In this work we present the experimental evaluation of a new beam-search formant tracking algorithm under noisy conditions and compare its performance with three formant tracking methods.
The order of the cepstral analysis was 24 (plus the 0th coefficient containing the energy, which does not take part in the conversion). The frame shift was set to 8ms. During conversion, the mean and variance of the source speaker’s log f0 distribution were replaced by those of the target speaker by means of a linear transformation. In order to find the correspondence between the source and target cepstral vectors extracted from the parallel training utterances, we calculated a piecewise linear time warping function from the phoneme boundaries given by the available segmentation.
